Great In-Between Styles, October 1, 2015 By Anonymous (Madison, AL)
I am a target shooter, so I cannot talk much for hunting. I have shot both styles, but I prefer Olympic Recurve. Due to time constraints I wanted the setup of a compound for coming back into target archery. This is a great in between! You get the setup of a compound & the let off, but no actual spike and dead holding spot. The let off on the cam is so smooth you cannot even tell its happening. Evidently it is, as the holding weight is less, but its such a smooth transition. This is a one of a kind cam for sure. GREAT JOB Matthews/Genesis Archery. Colors are cool & they even have a build a bow option for custom colors. The price point is phenomenal & well worth it. If you are looking for a target bow or something that seems to have a little of the best of both worlds, this is it. I emailed Genesis to get the information on their progressive let off and it is below. I shoot 40lbs at about 27.5" Draw so I am around 55.5% let-off which I think is perfect for target. Enough to keep fatigue down, but still enough weight to pull the strin & not let ya get lazy on holding. :)
Progressive Let-Off Response:
"You will experience some let-off at varying points throughout your draw. For example, at 21†you will experience 19% let-off. At 30â€, you will experience 62% let-off."
